Born on December 21, 1984, Mahira Hafeez Khan is a Pakistani actress who works in both television and movies. She is one of Pakistan’s most well-known and well-paid actors, and she has won several awards, including six Lux Style Awards and six Hum Awards.

Khan began her career as a video jockey for a number of television programs before landing a supporting part in the popular social drama Bol (2011) to mark her acting debut. Later, in the hugely popular romance television drama Humsafar (2011), she portrayed a troubled wife. For her role, she was awarded the Lux Style Awards for Best Television Actress. The religious drama Shehr-e-Zaat (2012), the biographical romance Sadqay Tumhare (2014), and the romantic drama Bin Roye (2016) are just a few of the highest-rated television series for which Khan gained wider recognition for her portrayals of a variety of unconventional characters. These shows also earned her multiple nominations and awards for Best Actress. In two of Pakistan’s highest-grossing films, the 2015 love romance Bin Roye and the 2016 coming-of-age musical drama Ho Mann Jahan, Khan made her name as the female protagonist. Her breakthrough role in Hindi cinema was in the 2017 crime thriller Raees, which is one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. She also won praise from critics for her performances as an aspiring actress in Superstar (2019) and as a rape victim in the revenge drama Verna (2017). 

After a brief break, Khan created the sports online series Baarwan Khiladi (2022) and starred in the androcentric action movies of 2022, including the very successful Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad and The Legend of Maula Jatt.

Apart from her acting career, Khan advocates for social concerns including women’s rights and the refugee crisis. She also speaks out against topics like child abuse and sexual assault. She joined UNICEF in 2019 and was designated as the organization’s national and international goodwill ambassador for Afghan refugees living in Pakistan. She is a well-known celebrity brand spokesperson for several products and businesses, and she has hosted a number of television and award ceremonies. Regarding her private life, which is under public scrutiny, she is circumspect.

Career

In 2006, Khan began her career, anchoring MTV Pakistan’s live program Most Wanted, which aired three days a week. After thereafter, she served as the host of Weekends with Mahira on AAG TV. in 2008, where she answered calls from fans, performed music videos, and chatted with famous guests.

2011 saw Khan make her screen debut in the supporting part in Bol, which was directed by Shoaib Mansoor. She portrayed Ayesha, a young woman from a traditional lower-middle-class family who lives in an older area of Lahore and who is in love with Mustafa, played by Atif Aslam, since they both have a passion for music.The movie became one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films of all time after becoming a critical and economic triumph. In the same year, Mehreen Jabbar’s TV drama Neeyat marked Khan’s TV drama debut. She portrayed Ayla in the series, which took place in New York.
